Amber Triple with a bittersweet and spicy nose. It is warm with complex and rich flavours, amongst them is a slightly sweet and hop bitterness. This beer as a nice lasting parting note of hop bitterness.
The Van Steenberghe brewery created Piraat in 1988 in the wake of the success of its Gulden Draak. Jozef Van Steenberghe used the same unique wine yeasts as in Gulden Draak to create a unique, excellent amber beer.
The result is a very drinkable, but strong beer worthy of the name Piraat. Its power takes you on a journey through some unique flavours based on the brewery’s rich traditions. A living beer with a rich past. Set sail!
This light ambercoloured Piraat with full foam head overwhelms with an aroma of bitter, spicy, malty and alcoholic scents. What follows is a perfect combination of malty, sweet and hopbitter tastes, after which you are drowned in a very long, semi-sweet after taste with bitter undertone.
